A game that will certainly feel a bit faimilar to those who have played the likes of Metal Gear and Splinter Cell, Stealth Hunter is a game that's all about stealth. You're a lone mercenary and the odds are against you - there's just one of you and countless enemy soldiers. Diving in head first is a suicide mission - they'll call for backup and in mere seconds turn you into swiss cheese with a hail of bullets. If you hope to win and survive, you'll need to rely entirely on stealth and stay hidden in the shadows, and carefully sneaking in and making a silent kill when you need to. There's a lot of ways to make your way through this game - for kills you'll want to largely focus on snapping necks, due to it being a silent kill - though C4 can also be used, it naturally will not be a silent kill, making quite a bit of noise and drawing attention to you - so only use this if a situation calls for it. To play, you'll use the arrow keys to move around the levels. On screen there will be a radar, showing positions of you and enemies in the level - and the cones coming off of them represent their field of vision. It is essential you stay out of this cone - step into it and they'll spot you, raising an alarm and causing you to fail the mission and restart. Sneak around by going up to a wall and pressing and holding the up arrow to lean against the wall, using the left and right arrow keys to move around perpendicular to the wall. At times you will see a red exclamation mark appear above your head - this means there is an object that you are able to interact with, such as a switch or door - press space bar to interact with these things when you see the exclamation point appear up above your charatacter's head. You can also use the space bar when you're up against a wall to tap it. Tapping on the wall will make a sound, and enemies nearby in range of the sound can't help themsevles but to go investigate - use this to your advantage to distract them as you sneak your way behind them to move in for a sneaky and silent kill. You'll need to be in close range, within one square, but if you sneak up on a guard you can press space bar to break his neck. This represents the more sneaky, stealth approach... but like the games it draws inspiration from, it lets you take the non sneak approach if you want to - though be advised this usually is the more challenging way to do things. That said, it's honestly way more satisfying to kill guards using C4 charges than sneaking up and snapping necks. C4 is useful in that is has more range, requiring you to not be anywhere near as close as for a neck snap. Use the Z key to plant one of the C4 charges, and then when you've got one or more enemies standing within the explosion raidus of it, press X to detonate the charges. Keep in mind too, that some objects such as wooden crates will be destroyed if they're caught by the explosion. Said crates as well as certain other in game objects can be pushed and moved around by walking into them. A game that offers a ton of different ways to make your way to the end, it's definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of stealth action games.
